Latin

The first language to enter the Lingua Verani project was Latin. The changes that are being made to the language are as follows:

  • Reorganisation of the declension system. The names of the declensions pertain to their stem-vowel. The declensions are:
    • i-stem Declension (Masculine and Feminine) [-is]
      • i-stem Consonantal Abbreviational Declension (Masculine and Feminine) [-x, -ps, -as, etc.]
      • i-stem Consonantal Abbreviational Declension (Neuter) [-al, -ar, -e]
    • e-stem Declension [-es]
    • u-stem Declension [-us]
    • o-stem Declension
      • Masculine [-os]
      • Neuter [-om]
    • a-stem Declension [-a]
  • Total reconstruction of vocabulary
A Proto-Indo-European vocabulary will be ‘translated’ into Latin via sound-change laws, etc. This will ensure a perfect Latin.
  • Writing system
Instead of the traditional Latin Alphabet, the International Phonetic Alphabet will be used (as it will be in P.I.E.).
